         PUNE Finally, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced its first-semester test program which will be in online mode from February 15.

On Monday, a meeting of the SPPU executive council was held to discuss the matter and, according to the needs of the majority of students and members of the senate, the test will be conducted online.


“It has been decided that the semester exams will be written online and will be considered as a program from February 15. There is a lot of speculation about the tests that will be done online or offline, but now students should not be confused as it will be. held online, ”said Mahesh Sele, head of SPPU's monitoring and evaluation department.


Approximately 615,000 students from various streams will write exams from 350 colleges under the Pune, Nashik, and Ahmednagar districts. Of the 284 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, there are 6,862 courses. In 1,600 subjects there are two test languages, English and Marathi.


“There are teachers, deans, paper editors, moderators, and a few other people who are involved in this process. This will be the same multiple-choice question (MCQ) with 50 marks and a total of 60 questions. The time will be one hour and for Divyang students an additional 20 minutes will be added, ”added Pia.


In previous tests, the university examination department used a test method where students could perform tests anywhere using smartphones, tablets, laptops or desktop computers, and even cyber cafes.


As a login reader who will provide the test, all student movements are captured and monitored by the system. If a student cheats or is found doing anything suspicious, he or she will be given three times a warning, after which the student will be released.


“This academic year started last year in June and since then we have been busy in both online and offline classes. Now at least we want the semester tests to be held online and soon, as we can now prepare for the next semester, ”said Spruit Patankar, an SPPU student.
