       A 60-year-old man who returned from Zambia to Pune via Mumbai was kept in solitary confinement after being tested for Covid-19. The man bought a taxi but the driver was found to be free of the virus.



Dr Ashish Bharti, chief medical officer, PMC, said his sample had been sent to the National Institute of Virology for genome testing for Omicron variants and the report would come in seven days.

"She arrived in town 11 days ago with a stomach ache and vomiting but now she is stable," said Dr Sanjeev Wavare, a medical assistant, PMC.

Pune health authorities are also identifying passengers who have returned to the city after an international tour from November 11-26.

According to Dr Bharati, 1,126 international travelers arrived at Mumbai airport between November 11 and 26. Authorities say they are waiting for a list from state health officials to follow those who have visited Pune.
